Help!! Taking Yasmin Birth Control for a month...getting bad acne scars!

Ok I have broken out since high school...I am 23 and its only getting worse. My doctor put me on Birth Control so I wont get pregnant...but I have noticed my acne has gotten reaaaallllly bad. I have been taking Yasmin for a month and my acne has never been worse....I have developed a few depressed scars...like pits on my cheeks and its making me depressed! I have never had those before! What the heck is going on? I think its the birth control and people tell me to wait it out and that it will get better!.. Why should I have to suffer like this its not worth it. My makeup covers pretty well...but it still depresses me so bad i dont want to leave my house sometimes. I have been on other brands of birth control and this never happened. Maybe its just this kind...does anyone have any advice or has had the same thing happen???

 

I had that happen when I was on Marvelon. Now I'm on Diane-35 (again, long story lol) and it's slowly healing. But I totally understand...I was on Marvelon for about a month when my skin EXPLODED - when I had been on Diane before, it had cleared up my skin a lot. Perhaps Yasmin is not the one for you...I would suggest talking to your doctor about Diane

 

Wow I looked up Diane 35 and want to know if you can get it in the US.....cuz thats where I am. I have never heard of it b4 but am gonna stop taking yasmin and ask my doc about Diane . But not sure if its available here....???

 

You can probably get in the states, I can't see why not. I've had great success with it! Good luck - let me know what happens acne issues suck...i'm STILL trying to calm my skin down after the Marvelon, dammit. That pisses me off *grrr*

 

i broke out on it so bad the other month and it went away since i went off of it. its the only one ill take because it doesnt make me gain weight.

 

ladies, Diane and Yasmin are essentially the same drug, just different names. Perhaps Progesterone based pills are better for you

 

Could you be ALERGIC to Yasmin?

 

I've heard ortho tricyclen is supposed to make your acne better, my sister was on it for a while, but I don't know if it helped her in that aspect or not. I am currently taking Yasmin and so far have not had any ill effects.

That's the tricky thing about the pill...everyone has to find the one that works with their own body chemicals. Complicated stuff!
