the best stoner music is clasic rock and rock atogether. the # 1 band is the GRATEFUL DEAD nothing asked about it. Bob marley is up there also. Sublime, jimi hendrix, RAGE, the allman brothers, and pink floyd are the best to listen to, welll to me.

well i figure this deserves a reply. ur entitled to your opinion. i do agree wtih you on sublime and pink floyd, but im not a dead fan , and marley has gotten quite anoyying as of late.

 

yeah the grateful dead is one of my fav bands but it is music that u got to grow on too or i did anyway

Would have to say phish, sts9, and animal liberation orchestra, i love the dead, but it is a sad remider(not that phish is not, but atleast phish still has all living members :<) but marley has really become a form of how do you say....middle school conformity? I see all these little 14 year old kids running around at the skate parks and clubs with Marley shirts on, who have no clue who he is, what he stood for, or what the music was ment to be. I find it very annoying that all this hendrix and zep and floyd and shit like that is hitting up the mainstream.

Spase & Tyme,Madgesdiq,The Square Egg, Cold Duck Complex,Sentence ..... stuff like that's really been drawing me in lately. The underground is alive and well. btw, jman, you listen to stuff like this or like east coast/west coast/northern/southern etc... just curious.

i cant count the number of times ive gone on pissed off rants about these "baby rockers" as i like to call them. FUCK I HATE IT!

 

i base it on all of his music, im not dissin the man, but its jsut played out. I come back to bob every once n a while n enjoy the music, but lately with all the shirts n shit and hearing these punk rockin 12 year olds screamin "RASTA!!" it just detracts(is that a word?) from his music. IMO of course

ok, so all new stoners listen to mainstream flows of classic rock? what the hell happened to the new music coming out everyday? I love Jimi and Jefferson but their attitude was about developing and discovering new sounds. That's going on right now. Are all of you just totally fuckin' brainwashed or what? Is this what we have to expect? G'damn, this sucks.

you couldn't have said it better element. sure i like all that stuff taht has been mentioned on this thread, and the 3000 other threads that just say, "o maaaan i love bob marley and led zeppelin i hate people say they like this music but its just trendy maaaaaan"

take a look in the mirror jointman. i'll bet, this is just a longshot tho, you are in fact wearing a trendy classic rock t-shirt of either hendrix, zeppelin or pink floyd. you are trendy no matter how you look at it, accept it, and run with it man cause it obviously makes you happy. stop caring what other people like, if your neighborhood skater wants to wear a bob marley shirt, what the fuck do you care? try digging up some stuff you used to listen to before you started this whole hippy thing. i recently did it and found a smile on my face. i recently realized that the music i threw away cause it wasn't "hip" enough sounds good. but if thats not your bag, dive deeper into old music. buy a turntable, go to a tagsale and buy some records and see waht you find, i've found a number of very cool pyschedelic and folk thats lyin a little under the radar.

i'm in no way saying i don't like any of the mainstream classic rock music, its mainstream for a reason, its really good. but it gets old, and you're gonna eventually need to find somethin new, take this advice or leave it and live out the fantasy of turning your life into 1969, but just wait a year or two
