Easy Rider, the 1969 counterculture classic, embodies everything I believe in with regards to being a hippy. I identify deeply with the predictaments of Wyatt and Bill (Fonda,Hopper) and their struggle for individuality in a narrow minded, ultra-bigoted world. I am a true blue Yankee, forced to live in the 9th circle of Hell otherwisley know as THE BIBLE BELT!! I reccomend this movie for anyone who has the presistent sensation that they don't entirley belong in the enviroment they're in. A good companion book to this movie is Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintainence
You're right the ending pissed me off to no end. damn rednecks. Oh and SharyBobbins, lovin the signature "She must have been dreaming about Hitler again" Homer Simpson
I love the way they don't actually fit in anywhere, with any of the people they meet. Even the idealistic "hippy commune" is just another establishment and set of rules they don't feel comfortable with. It's as much an anti-hippy film as it is a hippy one.
that cemtary tripping out sence freaked me out !! but the movie was pretty good...it makes me feel inspired for some reason haha. like u know...out on the road and all.
