I am a member of newsgroups relating to men in skirts (not having anything to do with crossdressing or genderqueer). Around the country there are boys who have been given detentions or kicked out of school (sometimes just sent home to change) for choosing to wear a skirt to school. The thing that the schools always say is that it is a detraction. That they will be causing bullying. Making the young gentlemen who choose fashion freedom the perpetrators of the abuse. Not the idiots that are incabable of realizing that clothing doesn't have gender. OK, so this is a different issue but the concept is the same. Too bad that airikita100's school mascot wasn't a fox. That would be harder for them to victimize zim for.
<-----------has worn nothing but a skirt and rollerbladed urban areas. why? Skirts are cool thank you. Feel the breeze.
ok, just how dressing like a fox is socially unacceptable, so is murder. so if you're murdering to make a statement, it isnt wrong, right?
Most ethical systems makes murder wrong yet I have yet to see a ethical system that states dressing like a fox is ethically wrong.
because its disruptive. it doesnt matter that it doesnt defy any ethical morals. so you'll just be hurting yourself anyways. society wont be able to accept the fact that you're wearing ears and a tail, and they, being humans, will go out of their way to bring you down. so instead of trying to defy, start trying to reform. in subtle ways. you dont go deer hunting with a bazooka.
and arent ethic's started by society? they're very closely related, arent they? the same people who come up with ethic's are the same people who make up the culture.
The initial post made me angry. High school kids in America are being deprived of their intellectual freedom and they're worrying about fox ears? Across this delapidating nation, brilliant works of literature like Catcher in the Rye are being banned of the use of that dreadful "f word." They're receiving the education as seniors in high school that a middle school Japanese student could easily surpass. And we're discussing EARS? They are taught one point of view of a limited history, limited literature for fear of "warping their minds," and the science and math programs are subpar. And this bitch is worried about ears and a tail? It shouldn't matter what you're wearing if it's really about connecting with animals. What disturbs me is that this is being questioned and worried over, yet whether or not there are other flaws with the system is unimportant. If you believe clothes make the individual, you're just another pawn in the sick and dying machine that is the government.
Greetings! I became familiar with furry culture in 1994 when I became familiar with the internet. I don't have a costume but I'm I've been involved in the cartoon department. http://members.shaw.ca/egould/index.htm
The pursuit of knowledge is more important and that requires that ALL preconceptions be scraped. You need the students to be able to doubt everything including culture and authority. Since you can't give a good logical reason free of preconceptions to why they should not be banned , then logical you shouldn't ban them. No, ethics comes from philosophy NOT culture. I already said this is completely trivial.
Some kid at the UVA writing camp wore a blue tail. And a pin that said "Anthropamorphic Convention 2004." Basically a bunch of people fuck each other in animal costumes.
Biological females can wear pretty much what they want. If someone is born male they are only supposed to wear a narrow set of clothing choices. I bet people thought you were cute. This poor guy is treated like a criminal.
I used to wae a headband with devil horns on it, and I refused to take it off when asked by an art teacher. I refused to the point where he sent me out to the office. Why should I? its a headband for fucks sake.
*coughanarchistcough* and who came up with philosophy? dont differant cultures have differant philosophies?
