The center for cognitive liberty and ethics (ccle) had a Salvia Divinorum defense fund. However, due to lack of funding, they are suspending operation on efforts to keep Salvia legal.:(

    Go here: http://www.cognitiveliberty.org/drug_policy/salvia_defense_fund.htm

In 2002 and 2003, ccle was a key player in insuring the failure of gov't efforts to get the Salvia plant classified as a schedule 1 drug. As recently as January of this year, they were working on defeating efforts in Missouri to make Salvia schedule 1.

Please help! Cut and paste the address above to read more about ccle and the Salvia Divinorum defense fund. Give what you can in return for everything that Salvia has given to you. Thanks!

You can do this if you want, there is no point in stopping you.

But ... the Salvia Divinorum Defense Fund, even though it continues to "operate" (so to speak), is largely finished due to lack of funding. They did manage to make the government aware that Salvia divinorum does not meet the criteria to be scheduled, but the bills were defeated time and time again. There shouldn't be anything to really worry about anymore.

Hi Hikaru. I've enjoyed reading your posts throughout this forum.

I'd like to think there's nothing to worry about, but this is the US government we're discussing.

On March 15th 2005 (a mere 3 weeks ago), the House Committee on Crime Prevention and Public Safety passed bill 633,which seeks to place Salvia divinorum and salvinorin A in Schedule I of the Missouri State's Schedule of Controlled Substances. Louisiana made a similar attempt in February and the bill has been referred to the House committee on criminal justice. The Louisiana legislature will reconvene on April 25th.

The DEA has s.d. on it's watch list for 'drugs of concern'. Meanwhile, Australia, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Finland and South Korea have all taken action to prohibit s.d. and one can assume the US is watching all this action very closely.

As much as I would like to believe that there is 'nothing to worry about anymore', the legislatures in Missouri and Louisiana, as well as the upswell in s.d. laws worldwide, are telling me something different.

I will take whatever action I can to help protect Her, and I hope like minded others will do so as well. That was mainly my reason for posting.

    Peace.

True enough. I'm aware that it's illegal in Australia and a few other countries, but I didn't know that there were new bills for a couple of states. Thanks for the info.
