First post so best start off with "hello"...

Heading back to Dam for my fourth trip on the 21st of this month, all other 3 times we've never really ventured much further than the RLD coffee shop wise, infact we've not been much further than the Grey Area for buying our weed. Where can anyone recommend thats a bit more off the beaten track ?

    Cheers

We stumbled across that place last time, it was dead inside but nice play. Can't remember for the life of me what weed I bought from there but remember being pleasantly suprised. Will deffo be taking a trip there in a couple of weeks !!

I enjoyed Barneys quite a bit. There and the Gray Area were my favorites

Imo, these are the shops to make sure to try in terms of buying gear.

Amnesia - Grey Area - De Kuil - Tweede Kamer - Bushdocter - Katsu

Good Luck and let us know what you end up trying.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Nemesis, you read my mind, 2 coffee shops that i'd most like to visit are Tweede Kamer and Dampkring. Heard great reports about both. Also heard a lot about Homegrown Fantasy so will have to take a trip there.

    So far then, on my coffee shop 'must visit list' I have;

    Tweede Kamer
    Dampkring
    Homegrown Fantasy

Are these less touristy coffee shops which cater more for the Connoisseur ? Being a tourist myself im not complaing about the touristy places but i'd like to see a bit more of the Dam and how the locals do it. Also are these all within reasonable walking distance of the Winston hotel ?

    Roll on 21st !!!

That's the one good thing about A'dam, everything is all in good
walking distance, although after a few days of doing it though,
it gets a bit tiresome. Thats the time to park your bum on the
trams or a bike seat and stuff walking about anymore.
The Dampkring, btw, can get very busy day and night, but they
do have a very good selective menu and also own Tweede Kamer.
    Enjoy

DHS, I note you recommend Barney's. This is another place ive not visited but have heard mainly good reports on. I understand they do a quality breakfast ? Do they serve food throughout the day ? Ive also heard they no longer sell weed or is this just a myth ?

They still sell. People gripe about Barnies because yes, you might pay a euro or two more per gram and they close early, but the food - both breakfast and lunch is very good by Amsterdam standards, the staff very friendly, just a very good atmosphere.

Damprinkg has the BEST hashish in the City.
Abraxas has some of the best dope.

Abraxas is great because you can chill there on the couches, DAmprinkg is more of a buy some smoke and leave. Its more of a bar. Plus, at Abraxas, you can sit with pot plants.

AVOID THE BULLDOG- its comercialized shit!

I'll second that, certainly won't be visiting any Bulldog establishments this time round. Last time, we went to the one with the adjoining hotel and the staff were all absolute mugs. Not one happy face working behind that bar, definately not the sort of place I like to get stoned !!

All the Bulldogs are way too commercial.
It amazes me how they still stay in business as everybody
I know and everywhere I read, it's the same thing, people
keep slagging it off and never go in them.

Don't Get The Pancakes At Barneys, They Suck, They Are More Like A Flat Tastless Crepe, Matter Of Fact By American Standards The Place Sucks For Breakfast.....but Since It's Not In The States What Can You Expect. Popeyes Had A Better Breakfast, Cheaper Smoke And Right By Barneys
