    Just a curiosity thing really:

    8 hours a day work
8 hours a day sleep (at most)
    8 hours a day doing...?

What do you do when you're conscious and not working, and more crucially, which of these things is your favourite?

This all links in with one of my favourite quotes, a line from the Armando Ianucci Shows about how we let our jobs define us:

    God bless that man.

At the moment, I am performing every evening in an amateur production of Crazy For You... so that takes care of a few hours.

Once that is finished, I intend to go back to my usual life of listening to music, reading autobiographies, watching trash television or geeky sci-fi, playing violent video games with my eldest son, painting abstract art with my youngest son, walking the dog, cuddling my wife and many, many hours of masturbation...

    How does that sound?...

    Fly...

Sounds good. I'm wondering because I'm being asked to think seriously about my "career" again, and I just keep thinking that it's less than a thrd of my life, and that I'd rather pour my energy and enthusiasm into something good. I swear my parents are from some weird mental species, I seriously get the impression they'd pick "sleep" out of the above three.

I don't have one. It's not a problem for me, it's a problem for everyone else who thinks I'm not fulfilling my potential or some stupid thing. I'm quite happy to get a brainless menial job when I leave uni, just to get money in. I don't mind doing a job I have no interest in as long as it doesn't come home with me or invade the remaining two-thirds of my life in any way.
