Doesn't matter what instrument you play or if you sing . . . who do you think are the most satisfying or inspiring musicians to play?

On the guitar for me is Neil Young and singing would have to be Janis Joplin...

I would be more likely to say Neil and Janis, only the other way round!

Guys like Neil and Dylan give singers like me hope. As for Janis, I play alot of her songs, and getting them right isnt always easy, but alot of fun and satisfying. There isnt much of hers I dont know, and doing the weirder stuff is great.

Of course the most satisfying is playing my own tunes for an appreciative audience.

    Noel Gallagher's solo acoustic stuff.

Syd Barrett and Keith Richards are great when it comes to barre chords.

...but lately I've been realizing that playing other's people work is boring as hell, especially if you learn from tabs or what not. Playing your own songs is so much more fun.

Not sure I quite understand the question...
If it means "whose songs do you like to play", the answer is "my own".
If it means "who do I like to listen to" or "whose playing is most satisfactory to my ear", the answer is "that's a really difficult question and it really depends on what instrument we're talking about"...

as for guitar i'd have to say Hendrix and Santana are very satisfying
on bass Flea and Marcus Miller are the shit
when i can hit the notes, vocally Chris Cornell is very satisfying (at least his shit with Soundgarden)
as people have already said, it's much more satisfying playing my own music tho

It all depends on the MOOD I'm in. MY tastes span 300 years of music.

    Can't list them all.
I go from Brahms, and Mehndellson to LLCoolJ!

Right now I would say classical music, it's sometimes very difficult to get it right and then when you master it, ít's such a great feeling. But I'm not very good with the chords and everything yet so this might change.
