    i'm writing a paper about search engines... so, i've been wondering - what search engines do you use?
    and why do use extactly that/those that you use?

    I havn't used any engine other than google for years, just seems to turn up the most relevant pages...

    most of the time I use yahoo, I'm usually already there.

    Google! Easy-to-use (you don't have to find your way through the latest headlines, dating agencies and other annoying stuff that may be very interesting, but not when I'm searching for something else) and gives best answers!

    It saves Time.
    I can usually find what I seek.

    Yahoo gets first shot at my biz.
    Google oftentimes has some off the wall results...

    10 years ago I was all about altavista..but google is by far the best thing going today for general searching

    I like google but it the results are essentially spam sometimes. try looking up a hotel - its impossible to get the hotel, you get 50,000 companies trying to book you with a room there, but the actual hotel comes on about page 10.

    I've been experimenting with www.clusty.com

    The premise (copied from the website):
    I think it works pretty well, definitely worth a peek. Still beta though.
