I was appalled, angered and shocked that our neighbors to the north would engage this as "income" for the fishery industry. What angers me most is the lengthy and quite factually bush-like tactics the canadian gov are using to prevent associations like the AHS from documenting the horrible treatment of baby seals. Also scary is the minutemen like actions of the seal killers themselves. They have chased, threaten or beaten individuals whom capture their horrific attack on the baby seals. Instead of taking people on their boat to see the baby seals they club them like fuckin animals living bloody corpses everywhere. Great cause and all, just watch out with care2. Not that they spam, but over a short stretch of time, i signed so many petitions from them, my email was getting way flooded from all their notices. So put the email carefully with these things.
I have always enjoyed the taste of smoked baby seal. It goes great with deep-fried aborted fetus and a good Chianti.
At the Jersey Shore, The Seal is making a come-back. They come in close to shore. They know that in the deeper waters, boat men who have fire arms will shoot at them. So they go where the people are, inshore. Its like the Canada Goose, they feel safe with people and vunerable alone

Poor baby seals. About seals making a comeback, yes, they do come clos to those shores but mainly because the himan population feeds them. If there's anything we don't like, it's the possible complete dependency of these creatures to us.
