I got a call from a friend of mine today, she lives in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. Right now she has three stray kittens that need someplace to go! Her landlord does not allow pets, even for a few days, and is threatening to call the city animal control to come and euth. these kitties! She does not have internet access, but I told her I'd post here and see if anyone could help. They don't have a lot of time!
Send me a message if you know anyone who could help.

She could put them in a basket/box and drop them off at the Humane Society, or just tell her landlord she got rid of them...

here in nc they wont kill them at first, they will sit in the tank for 30 days and be put up for adoption, but if they are sick or no one adopts them in 30 days they will be put down. if she takes them to animal haven or any other no kill shelter they will be fine but she actually has to give the cats to a person rather than put em outside the door............... if you put em in a box and drop em at the humane society they can charge you with abandonment and animal cruelty........

yes, funkyphreshmama is right, take them to a no-kill shelter if you can't find a home for them, and actually take them inside. there are lots of strays that just roam around in the trees behind the local shelters, so make sure they get inside where they can get adopted and have food, water and attention. especially if they're kittens, as obviously the younger they are, the more vulnerable.

also, can her landlord really call animal control and have the cats euthenized? he can evict your friend, but i don't think he can legally have the cats killed, right?

he can only call animal controll to take them away, they wont kill them at first unless they are very sick..... he is full of shit if he said he is having them killed

We are fortunate that around here, the humane society shelters are all no-kill unless the animal is very sick or a danger to humans.

Its too bad I didn't live closer, I'd gladly adopt one of those kittens. I really want to get another one to keep my jazzmin company.
