...out of the four original albums recorded before his death, and the one he was working on when he died.

It's a hard choice, isn't it? I went for Axis too, 'cause it includes Little Wing, one of my favourite Hendrix songs ever.

I'd say Axis: Bold as Love, with Electric Ladyland at a close second.

    I voted 'Axis:Bold as Love' :

'If six was nine ' compares to 'Love's' : 'The Red Telephone' .

So the Curtis Knight stuff is out then?hehe

I didnt vote, because I dont think there is any way to say that one is better than another from him. All are great, well crafted, and I couldnt choose just one, sorry!

Besides, my three fave Jimi tracks arent on those at all, and are only live performance works.

Bold As Love has become my favorite out of all his releases.

I'm not really a big fan of studio editing/using the studio as an instrument (look what it did to Standing on the Shoulder of Giants :( ) but Bold As Love kicks ass when it comes to studio usage. Jimi Hendrix was not only a god on guitar, but a genious in the recording studio.

Dudes, I gotta say I'm glad Axis is winning, although I know they're all pretty good. But does no-one like the Cry of Love? I mean, come on guys, it has Ezy Ryder on it!

Except for "Bellybutton Window", I've gotten live versions of all the songs on there that I find to be superior to the album versions...

Infact, I've never found a live version of Bellybutton Window. :(

Yeah, he's one of the few, few people who never recorded a bad song ever.
