I know this possibly isn't the right forum, but I just need confirmation that the Beano did run a short-lived and really very iffy strip about an Asian postman. I can't find any evidence of it on the net, which is more than can be said for the far-more-obscure-and-terrifying Oink comic. "Thank fuck" won't even begin to describe my emotions if it turns out that was all just a horrid nightmare.
Because if I remember it that means it was in the early-to-mid-nineties. It's come up because of that TV On Trial thing on BBC4. That and it's annoying when a massive bit of your memory is called into question. I don't want this to be another Interbang.

Postman patel was an asian postman in the dennis the menace strip of the beano but never had his own strip. I remember Oink too, that was shocking but shite, it had a character called madge ick. i remember she shot up her teacher. wow, what a geek i am.

HOLD ON A COTTON PICKIN MINUTE!! i just realised that i stopped buying the beano about 8 or 9 years ago, but you chris are only 14 so thats like a whole 6 or 7 years more worth of beanos! so its quite possible that they brought in Postman Patel as a regular character anytime after around 1996 and i would be none the wiser! so yeah, its quite probable.
