How many dimensions ARE there? Mankind knows of 4. They are: Highth, width, depth, and TIME. But, how many are there REALLY?

i believe that psychedelics take you to another dimension of perceptual awareness and to a certain degree even to a whole other realmin which your shareing the same universe but while on a mind altering drug you are actually visiting another realm withing are everyday realm.

    hope that made sense.

If you've ever seen a "Ghost" or had an OOBE or known when someone close to you was hurt, you may have visited a fifth one.

Although I can't prove it, I am beginning to think time is multidimensional. We humans are cognatively limited to thinking about time in one dimension, and in one direction only within that dimension. I hope we can entertain the idea that, if time has length, then it also may have some equivalent of width and height.

    Also,

What if additional dimensions of space-time are expressed in terms of something other than distance. What if they are qualitative rather than quantitative.

Thanks. That is a good question.

All I did was recognize a thought, and then weave together a few words to recreate the thought. The origin of the thought itself is the real mystery.

Twenty years ago, while in a state of expanded consciousness, a friend asked "What is Reality?" I didn't have the words to answer, but I knew enough to recognize this is a vital question. I have been playing with this question ever since.

It seems to me that a good question is bigger than any single "Answer." Or rather, it embraces every good answer for the truth it contains, then responds with "Yes, but, there is more truth to be known."

How did you think of that? Good question.

Where do thoughts come from? Who creates thought? Whose thought is it really? What is the relationship between thoughts, words, and reality?

    Just a thought.

    Peace and Love

Well for every action you do, like lifting your arm, there are millions upon millions of choices and each choice is weighed and mesured in your mind untill one is chosen and followed threw with...HOWEVER...you COULD have chosen something totally diffrent...and hence where Diffrent Dimentions come in....watch the chow Slinders....it helps...

    On the other hand...
talking of the 3 dimensions which you have stated....Time is the 4th...maybe there is a 5th dimension or even a 6th[6th Sence anyone?] but untill mankind evolves...we will never find out....

But the "MULTIVERSE" as you call it...the trem comes from the movie..."The One" with Jet Lee and thats explaned by my first statment...
    Hope this helps...

    Well dictionary.com says:

dimension- A measure of spatial extent, especially width, height, or length.

First of all I think time doesn't exist, so take that away. Then there's 3 left, given the definition my answer is no. There is one infinate reality, so one could argue that there are many dimensions within it, and in a way they would be right, but in a way they'd also be wrong.

This replies to BOTH posters above this. How do you KNOW there are ONLY that many? I only KNOW of five.
Highth, Width, Thickness, Time and Self.

Mathematically speaking, there are 4 proven dimensions: x,y,z & t. Once when I was scrounging for some change in the back seat of my car, I found the 5th dimension which I like to call "the-dimension-formerly-known-as-Prince". It's designated by a wacky male-female-ankh symbol.

Now, using the x,y,z,t,tdfkap coordinate axes, if you go to point (9,0,2,1,0) you will find a doorway to an alternate universe where everything looks identical to this one. Identical. I'm currently writing a paper about my astounding discovery.
