My neighbor got dsl via the same providor 2 days ago (sbc) now when they're on it obstructs my service, I try to talk to sbc and all I get is some outsourced s.o.b. tech support troubleshooter, it's totally useless, what can I do, my neighbor is using an encrypted wireless network that I guessed the pass to (second guess) any ideas?
make sure they're on a different wireless channel should be under 'basic wireless setup' subcatagory in a linksys (yay for weak passwords)
when they're on I can't get on, not even on the computer that is connected directly to the router, nothing is wrong with any of my hardware, when they're not on no problem, full bandwidth and all (I'm using airsnort to count packets going over their network)
Like I said, I'm on 6, they're on 11, I've tried switching channels, it has nothing to do with the wireless, I had thought it had, but it doesn't, I guess it's something you have to see to get or that I'm awful at explaining this
I follow ya, you've both got DSL, but if your neighbors are using the internet, you can't get on the internet. they just happen to be using a wireless network, so thats how you know when they're on. that's probably a two way street....they probably can't get on if you're moving packets....run p2p allllllll day [i suggest bittorrent] and then they get to deal with the DSL company. [ohh..that's evil...]
been running bittorrent client all day (since 11 last night in fact) they haven't gotten on yet, evil genius
