I have been listning to Gomez alot recently especially the album Bring It On What a fantasic album! How do you guys rate them? Do you like them or do you not? I love them
Yup, Gomez are pretty splendid alright. "In Our Gun" I've only heard a handful of times, but I don't recall anything too nasty. I'm a big fan of their first two albums, the "Bring It On" you mention is excellent and one of the best debuts of the nineties I reckon. I thought there was loads of originality there and the music sounded that bit differant from the bands still reeling from britpop. And to follow up that with "Liquid Skin" really proved, if anyone wasn't totally convinced, that they had a great talent. I'm eager to hear their new album like, definitely.
i love gomez. new albums very good...much more guitar driven than in our gun was, was hailed as being a return to the bring it on sound, but doesn't sound like any of their albums much at all, very different production behind it, which is good news, all of their albums have brought new sounds my way bar liquid skin (which i do love, it was just a bit too similar to bring it on) but yes, wonderful band, were incredible live when in our gun came out, unless theyve gotten worse, will be among the glastonbury highlights for sure
Kelse made me buy one of their albums, and to be honest I couldnt get into it at first, but then suddenly one day I had an urge to listen to it, and love it.
I love Gomez, i think they're a really good band and still manage to hold onto this individuallity about them! They were cool at Glasto, made the sun come out and tried real hard to get the crowd going, it was ace! Don't know if you managed to catch them!? x x x x x
I remember seeing Gomez when I went to the Reading Festival back in 2000 ... Came on just before Beck if I remember rightly... They were pretty good... Not really my cup of tea musically but they performed well..
