Me and a friend had the idea that we want to do LSD sometime. We have done mushrooms a few times. But when we asked people about LSD they said it was kind of dangerous. Because some people get psychotic. I also red some stuff and they weren't positive either. But on this forum I only read positive story's about LSD. Are my fears correct or am I overreacting? IS IT DANGEROUS?
LSD has potential to be dangerous in the wrong hands on a high dose. However, LSD does nothing but wonderful things for people who respect its power and abilites. You aren't gonna turn into orane juice, go insane, or have flashbacks. You could however have a bad trip or experience new things along your journeys that might scare the shit out of you. LSD is THEE most intense drug (my opinion..heard DMT was more intense but shorter lasting..whatever..thats a differen't story) and if you don't go in with the right frame of mind..it could be a wild experience. The fact of the matter is that I'm obviosuly all for LSD consumption so I could be one-sided on my opinions, but I've dosed more times I can count on my hands and feet and have had no ill effects happen what-so-ever. But as always..do some reading and decipher what YOU think is true/untrue..then decide if LSD is for you.
LSD can trigger latent mental illnesses...e.g, if you're already mentally ill (psychotic, schitzophrenic, etc.) but don't know it yet, using LSD can expose the symptoms of such disorders. I recommend checking your family history and finding out if anything runs in your family; if not, you should be fine.
check out everyonedoesit.com its got some simple info ....ive never tried acid ..but i plan to at some point
From what I heard, it can make you insane. It's not something chemical that can actually harm your brain, but you can see something or have a thought that'll mess your mind. That can really happen from any intense experience, and LSD is pretty intense.
well i dont know what you mean by "harmful" in comparing mushrooms and LSD, but LSD is MUCH more intense, but neither are really harmful..
i disagree that lsd is less harmful than mushrooms. with mushrooms you are ingesting known natural chemicals whereas with lsd there are differing levels of purity and byproducts that come along with the tab. also, i hold LSD responsible for weakening my sensory filter - i see shifting surfaces and patterns that are decidedly LSD-like and NOT shroom-like. additionally, judging by the experience of the comedown of both acid and shrooms, i have to say that the comedown on shrooms feels much more pleasant which--to me at least--suggests that my body and brain prefer it over the less-forgiving and lingering lsd comedown. i bet clean acid is pretty "harmless," but i doubt that it could be said to be LESS harmful than mushrooms. maybe they're about the same, but i have a hunch that shrooms are ultimately less harmful than acid. if only i didn't love the effects of LSD so damn much.... peace.
For the point of arguement, let's say that you have pure LSD versus mushrooms. Since you're only ingesting 400 ug of one, isolated compound with LSD, your body has much less material to breakdown therefore technically making LSD "safer." However, it should be duely noted that both substances are nearly non-toxic. While LSD is often imitated by possibly-dangerous research chems (which, by the way, can be easily avoided by using common sense when purchasing such items), there's also the very real possibility of bunk mushrooms being "cut" with PCP, or even worse, just plain being life-threateningly poisonous. Like Syntax said, both LSD and fungus can induce incredibly intense, life-changing experiences and should be treated with respect. Since mushrooms are much easier to control than LSD, they are a good starting point when it comes to tripping. It's quite possible that either can leave you with lingering visuals (HPPD), this can occour with any substance and depends solely on the individual's reaction, NOT the nature of the chemical itself.
I totally agree, but LSD can also trigger a bad trip if you have unresolved issues, childhood abuse, etc. I dropped acid everyday for a whole summer with no ill effects. This was in the early 70's & LAS came in colored pill form & had so many different names, Such as:Yellow Sunshine, Green, Blue or Purple-Ossley, Purple Double-Done, etc., But eventually I had a very BAD TRIP & ended up in hospital. After that I tryed trippin again but spent the entire time talking MYSELF DOWN, and couldn't even smoke pot or hash because it would trigger a bad trip! BUMMER! I'm Quite SANE TODAY, well questionable at times!
My fault, figured those fell under the mental illness category. This didn't have anything to do with the actual pot or hash itself, but with the fact that you associated the smoking of either with some negative experience causing you to "psyche yourself out." I actually don't even smoke during a trip, as the LSD tends to overpower the high. Should also be noted that negative situations (such as being on bad terms with another head, or running into an authority figure) can trigger a negative experience, and it would be advised to take the necessary precautions to avoid such catastrophes.
Even if LSD overpowers the weed somewhat, smoking weed can only get you higher. Don't ya wanna get highhhhhaaa?
LSD was first described by some early pioneers as a "psychotominetic", meaning that it produced a psychosis like effect. Psychiatrists were very interested in this as an aid to therapy. It is also one of the reasons I like it. The "trip" is interesting from a psychological point of view because of the lessons that can be learned about oneself. It is best though to trip in a setting that is comfortable and where you can freak freely without having to worry about the neighbors. And if you have unresolved issues, you can expect that they will probably show up during the trip. Acid and wacked out thinking don't mix so well. Just remember, it is a drug and will wear off in time. It is a good idea to trip with an experienced tripper the first time.
I-LSD (isopropyl Lysergic acid diethylmide) causes psychosis because it cannot be broken down by the body and circulates endlessly causing hallucinations forever. if an extremly small dose of this bad acid is taken then hallucinations may not become apparent until you smoke pot which increases the effects. I did I-LSA (isopropyl lysergic acid amide) i made it by mixing morning glory seed mush with rubbing alcohol then letting all of the alcohol to evaporate now whenever I smoke pot I have acid flashbacks
Do you know why the bad acid remains in your system? I've heard that regular acid can remains in your system, or is just the bad acid that does? Did the bad acid cause you to have a bad trip? Do your acid flashbacks you experience from smoking pot good or bad? If they are bad do you still smoke pot anyway? Thanks! Rockyj
I don't believe psychiatrists refer to LSD any longer as a "psychotomimetic." It is supposedly not a true hallucinogen because users know what they are seeing is the result of the drug: they know what they perceive is temporary. Some people on LSD may feel they are going insane, but this is because of government propaganda that asserts LSD makes people insane, which is not true. Some emotional experiences may trigger madness in very few people, but the LSD in itself does not cause or mimic schizophrenia -- hence it is not a psychotomimetic.
There is a lot of bad information passing around about drugs and in particular LSD in this forum. This is exactly what the government and drug prohibitionists want. The LSD is removed from your system quickly, and the little that remains in your tissues is not enough to cause the flashbacks. The flashbacks are caused by the emotional experience of an intense trip. Some believe that flashbacks, when they do occur, are caused by new ways of thinking or perceiving caused by LSD, which the user experiences again as a result of some environmental or self-motivated trigger. Flashbacks are often not even thought of negatively by those experiencing them.
