Marijuana has had an effect on my life in many ways. I have been smoking for the greater part of 8 years now. At first It showed me the light, lifted the veil of ignorance from my young eyes way back in the day, got me interested in things outside myself, and deep inside my own self. It launched me into metaphysical pursuit and love for spiritualism, which is what Im focusing on to be my career. However just like in every other instance for the % of light I was shown there also is a percentage of darkness. Another example of what I mean is in relationships like finding out who that person is deep down. At first it feels good and you feel senses of "love" that is the light of relationships whereas I view the light of cannabis to be a higher appreciation of the world on all planes. However just like the scandalous breakup, and the hatred and darkness that comes with relationships gone wrong, cannabis showed me a darkside. Such as getting involved with friends to sling or what have you, only to end up fucking shit up between us, only hanging out to sell or smoke. Once you start caughing up lungies all the time. Plus My whole career went through a disguisting upheaval in my high school years due to pot. At least it came out on the top. I guess everything has a light and dark side. I guess it means I should smoke less. Even the high isnt the same anymore sometimes I just get tired and slow-minded. I finally have seen the darkness of cannabis. Even though at least the light still overpowers the dark, its a good lesson learned.

As someone who has been smoking almost daily for 3 years, and weekly for almost 7....
I've also soon the dark side of marijuana. Marijuana is not addictive in the same way crack is, but you can still develop cravings for it that interfere with your life - that is, you can lose the strength to say no. There've been times when I have a chice between homework or smoking and I'll choose smoking. Or days when I will wake up in the morning and say to myself, "OK you are NOT going to smoke today" but come evening, I'm like, "Oh Ok let's just smoke." Also, smoking as often as I do definitely starts to reduce your highs. Not so much the strength, but the longevity. When you first start smoking, you can get blazed for a few hours. Not for me anymore - the severe blazedness gives way to dull tiredness after an hour or so.
That having been said, I love marijuana and it is a part of my life and my spirituality. It taught me about myself and about the universe. Also, smoking pot daily has not stopped me from getting good grades at a good university, keeping a job, and staying healthy. All things in moderation.

'graduating' from pot to anotehr drug merely demonstrates the reason you were smoking weed.
ie as some means to escape sadness or simply caus you need a 'buzz'.
