well, i sold my car yesterday, and I can't rollerblade right now due to the fact that I'm pregnant, and I'd probably fall. But I still want some way of getting around that's better than walking. I live in a city, so there are busses, but they're really expensive...(they cost about the same, if not more, than having a car with insurance and stuff). I was wondering if any women here think that it's safe to bike when you're pregnant? I'm just starting my 5th month, so I'm not that big yet....what's your opinions? I'm also going to be buying a car in June or so.....so do you think that it's safe for at least getting around now?
I would say Brighid could help you with this. As you get heavier, your center of gravity shifts and it is really easy to fall. I had to stop getting up on the chair to get into cabinets in my second trimester, because I almost fell a few times. and we have an attic you have to climb into, and I got STUCK when I was pregnant because I couldn't balance well enough to climb down, and Bear (my dh) had to carry me down. Also ask you OB or midwife. If you are having a normal pregnancy, it will be different than if you are high risk for most reasons.
that's what I was worried about. Like I said, I should be buying a new car in abotu 2 months....I'm really not all that big yet. But who knows, I could wake up in a couple weeks and not know where my belly came from. So far, the whole pregnancy seems pretty normal. That's what my doc's been saying anyway.
Yep, that happens. I am glad everything is low risk and normal. The chances are it will stay that way. Take care of yourself, eat well get enough rest and enough water, and stay healthy.
lol, I'm not all that worried about baking! That was cute! My belly is already big....before it just looked like my regular belly pudge, and now, it's actually expanding! I love it though! I don't know why some women freak about getting fat when they find out that they're pregnant. It's the greatest feeling and look in the world! I feel completely natural and beautiful! This has got to be the best I've ever felt about my body! And my boyfriend loves it, too, lol
my ultrasound is in 4 days! If we;re able to find out what we're having, I'll be sure to post it as soon as I can!
If you are not used to biking everywhere, now is NOT the time to start! Your center of gravity has already shifted, making biking awkward and making falling more likely. Walking is safe and healthy! If you can't get to where you need to go by walking, take a bus.
I just live in a really akward area of the city, so and it takes me an hour just to walk to the closest store. There are busses, but like I said, I just can't afford them. Once and a while is ok, but more than that is too expensive. It;s about the same price as taking a cab everywhere. I'm going to look at a new car tonight. Hopefully I have some luck.
