I've been going to the Sydney BDO since '03. This year's was CRAP!! Last years was even worse & if a band like Metallica play again i'm not attending, they bring out total bogans. My first one has so far been the best! WHY?! Simply because Nick from QOTSA went comando, The Vines completey sucked (thats why i love them) and i met my now fiancee in the Millencollin mosh pit.
2001 bdo totally went off it was the greatest. placebo, pj harvey QOTSA were there. the 2002 was pretty good too!
My fave was way back (or so it seems) in 2000 at the gold Coast BDO. I guess one reason I liked it was because i was supposed to work at a bar there that day, but changed my mind and "accidently got lost" soon after arrival. Hence I just went off and partied instead. It was also one of the best I've been to because of the venue, and the size of the crowd. Also, it had rained the day before so I had lots of fun dancing in the mud in the boileroom too
i have never been to a big day out, but i hope too!!! i finish school this year so after that, adventuers, adventures adventures!!! on my agenda so far is woodford folk festival, big day out, rainbow serpent festival. yay i cant wait
Good for you extreme_t! Don't forget Confest if you come down this way new years or easter next year. I have not been to woody yet but heard it's great. Where are you in FNQ? I can't wait to get my booty up that way again, it's so so beautiful!! August x
Wow, you guys make me feel old! Or maybe that's 'cause I am!! Anyhoo, I haven't been to a BDO for a few years now, but I went to quite a few back in the '90's. Can't remember which was my favourite, because they all blend in together in my memory. They were all great though.. they had fantastic line-ups back then.
i think it was 99 or 00 not sure but marilyn manson!! it was the most fun ive ever had ever ever even though i don't particularly like the man or his music anymore!
i'm like extreme tezza, i 've never been to a bdo yet but i want to. anyways i heard the first one kicked arse. cos of the line up. ( nirvana etc..) so yer.
Went to my first BDO this year and it was nothing short of fantastic, but all this talk of previous ones being better makes me wish I'd gotten off my arse a little sooner
hey hmmm ive only been to the 04 and 05 bdo and they pretty evenly matched. the 04 one was cool because it was my first and the whole time i was in a kind of daze because it was so cool with so many great bands. i almost cried lol. the 05 one was cool also because i was with more people (i went with a friend and his step-dad in 04) and i went into the crowd more. but all in all the bdo is easily the best music fest in aus. peace
