posting pics question

I figured that since you guys post a lot of pics, you could help me on this.
Ok, I've tried posting pics on here, but it won't work. I can't get them on my sig or on my threads. It always says something about the format. I always try to post them out of paint. Is there some special program that I have to post them out of or something. I'm really stuck! There's a lot of things that I'd like to show you guys, but I can't. It sux. Oh, and can you post web cam pics on here too? Sometimes there's a problem with those on other sites.

 

I don't know about webcam pics but I had the same problem when trying to load pics...it told me I had the wrong format. What I did was load them onto Snapfish......just google "snapfish" and it's a website that will let you load your pics onto albums for free. I just loaded my pics onto an album and then from the album loaded them here. I imagine it would work for you. Feel free to pm me if you have a question about it

They need to be saved in a jpg format...photoshop saves them as psd I believe. Once I've saved them as a psd I then open the photo in infraview and change the photo type to jpg.

 

I forgot to mention something: I don't have a digital cam. I think that's the only way that it'll work. I wanted to upload a cartoon i made and it said that it needs to be a jpg,jpe,jpeg,zip only.

 

I dont have photoshop.
I'm kinda clueless when it comes to this computer stuff. I don't know what jpg, psd or infraview is.......:s

It is for viewing photos that are in your files. It's a great system and I've used it for quite sometime now. This is how I change the psd of photoshop to jpg for uploading. It shouldn't matter if the photo is scanned and then has to be uploaded or if it comes from a digi. I have used both on post. When you scan and image (depending on what type scanner you have) and you go to save it there should be something that let's you choose what type of image you want to save it as. Lots of times that option is in a drop down menu. I hope this helps.

what infranview link took me to some site that said, "here are some realated searches" and was all about web cams and stuff.....somehow I don't think that was the right site.
So this site needs "jpg" to load anything? Cuz yeah, the one I tried to load was "bmp."
I don't really see how loading ur pics onto another site can help. Everything eventually saves into "my pictures," and that's where i upload them from. Like I said, I'm no good with this computer stuff.

alright, heres what i do... i find a picture i like... i save it in paint, but when you are naming the file and stuff when you save it, change it to jpeg! then i go to www.imageshack.us ... they let you upload your pictures for free, and they give you links to use once you have uploaded your picture.. use the direct link if you want to post pictures into a thread/post.... hope this helps!
