    i am a mother

that all the world sees me as. as much as I believe that I am a complete person. a person that wants to have fun. a person with ambitions. a sexual person. a person that makes mistakes and needs to be taken care of occasionally.

I am wrong. I am only a mother of 4. That is the whole of me

and therefore, am not allowed to be a person anymore

Those who care or are worth caring about will see you as an individual and not 'just' a mother.

we are children when we are born and we still are children when we die. being a parent I am sure changes many things - but don't let the fact that you are a mother take away that fun craving, independent freak inside of you that still has needs for herself and herself alone. screw what society thinks missfontella. you can be a provider for your children and be an independent woman with needs of her own that should be pursued.

Miss Font ...if i may...just because u are a full time mum dosnt mean you cease to exist....While its true you cant go out snorting and humping like a rockstar , it absolutly dosnt mean yr no longer a person....to yr kids , your their mum , but kids dont see their parents as complete beings

Im sure at the end of the day , yr prolly fairly tired , and the desire to have some adult fun may not be as strong as if u were without them... the priority is the work u do w/ and for the youngens and hopefully u can still be the complete human that you seem to hope for

that's exactly what I thought when I read his post.

The struggle you describe is in being pigeonholed as just a 'mom' when you are far more dynamic than that.

I see a crew of wonderful kids that you're raising. There's little doubt in my mind in what I know you that they take complete central stage in your life, that they are your everything. You're doing a great job at being a mom.

You can be a 'normal adult too though, don't let societies perception prevent you from being an individual outside of motherhood.

I don't have adult conversations. The only thing I ever have to talk about is them because they are all I do. I don't go out to eat. I don't go dancing. I haven't had a boyfriend in years. When people meet me (on the rare occasion I meet people), they ask the standard questions and soon as they hear "4 children" they deem me as not fit to call back, ask out, or hang out with. I live in isolation.

I'm just expressing my feelings. I feel like a mom-blob today. It'll pass. But for now, I'm just getting it out. I know I'm blessed and that its my shit to deal with but I didn't wanna bother any of my friends with it so I posted it. No biggie

well, I don't see you as 'just' a mom..... you seem like an amazing, responsible, intelligent gal who's working hard to get her degree in EE (it's electrical engineering, right, i'm not hallucinating?), not to mention is gorgeous. And I've never even met you! :D

I just told them what to do. I had to take 5 pics to get a good one. They're used to me being silly. I went shopping because I've lost some weight. When I came home and tried on everything, I did a fashion show with the hallway as my catwalk

me: "the sleek lines and vibrant colors make the ensemble a summer must
have. also the model wants you to note the considerable weight loss"

the 6 year old: "but you're still fat"

    gotta love them
