I just bougt Need for Speed Underground and installed it. When I start it, It crashes back to the desktop after the initial splash screen. When i went to EA tech support, I found an article that says its probably the cdrom having trouble reading the disc. (which is brand new disc). When i went to click on the link that said, "tips for troubleshooting cd rom" It said i didnt have permission to view that page. I registered online, logged in and all that crap, but it still said the same thing. Thats bullshit. Anyone got any ideas?
Just go to Asta la Vista and search for one there. Just follow the instructions in the file; usually you'll just either run a certain program from it or replace the original EXE file...sometimes it's as simple as running the crack and then starting the game as usual.
I'm not sure if you're familiar with ISO files, but you could download an ISO file of the game and then mount it on a virtual drive using Daemon Tools. That would allow you to play the game even if your CD-Rom Drive was messed up. If you're not familiar with the process just let me know and I'll respond with all the info you need to do it.
I really dont think that is the problem, if it was your cdrom the game couldnt read from the cd and ask you to insert it..but sense this is not the case i think the troubleshooting solution is wrong(95% of the time they are). Most of the time when the game exits its because you dont meet the minimum requirments. If this is not the case then please read below.. Solution(s); 1) Download a no-cd crack(http://spacetarget.com/games/pc_nfs_underground.shtml) make sure that you match your current game version with the no-cd crack version.(If your not sure, then update your game, i believe the latest version of the game is v1.4) 2) Download or make a copy of your CDROM iso and use a too llike daemon tools to mount it virtually here is a link to download daemon tools. http://home.so-net.net.tw/martinx/dtools/daemon347.exe Good luck and if you have problems get back to this thread =P
