The Beatles or The Grateful Dead

 

its not even close the dead is and always be the greatest act in rock n roll

 

can you really compare the two? they are really different...

i would have to go with the grateful dead, although i really do like the beatles.

 

I love 'em both but if I had to choose one over the other I'd pick the dead.

 

That is an impossible question. It can not be answered. Never. These 2 amazing groups of people that create these brilliant sound waves, will never be given a ranking.

 

The Beatles were better in the studio, but The Dead were and still are probably the greatest live act to ever make music seeing as how they did it for so long and never made crap like some other bands who've been around forever, like The Stones.

 

I agree totally with you except The Beatles were the best song writers ever.

Id say there pretty much uncomparable... So very different...... I Love them Both So vey much.....

 

It's too different ...5 years ago i was not a Grateful Dead fan at all...
I buy their "Anthem of the Sun" as first album and it was a bad bad idea...
I was thinkin "Those guys are completely fucked up they talk about crocodiles and they play as they took lsd every hour and jam completely gone"
But well now my vue over them as changed and i see their vision but i still like better their "Aoxomoxoa" LP (69), i like them better when they don't play too long tunes...
But you know the beatles are genious and were at that time something like human gods... and the beatles can be understand by all human being...and this is their force.

Omg, no way. Grateful Dead is laggin behind right now. Grateful Dead all the way! The Beatles are all right but I can't listen to their stuff cover to cover like I can to the dead.

 

That's a dilemma... The Dead or the Beatles? They are two VERY different bands, with an own style. I must say I liked the style of the Beatles slightly more, but anly by an inch. It must be because of the lyrics. Nobody can top Lennon/McCartney...

Grateful Dead without question. I'm not denying the greatness of the Beatles, - its just that the Dead own the keys to my soul, which no other band ever has or probably ever will.
