i'm having the worst cramps i've ever had right now... they're not confining me to the bed or anything, so not as bad as i've heard, but i only recently started getting cramps when i got on yasmin about 3 months ago, and now i'm off of it (for about a month) and my cramps got worse... *sigh* does anybody know if they will go away naturally or if i will have to get on someting else? i got off of yasmin because of the cramps and because i got a really bad yeast infection that would not go away after treating it multiple times until i got a Rx for diflucan, and it's too expensive for me.

when i was on birth control i NEVER had cramps, and then when i got off, i mean, they were BAD..like i woudl lay in bed and cry and sometimes throw up it hurt so bad, but eventually they got ALOT better, like now, i only have mild cramps the first day i start!! i dunno if you've tried this, but if they're really bad, get a heating pad or something, that helps alot!!

from what i understand a diet high in salty foods can make cramps worse.

theres soo many natural things that can help you out with cramps.
acidophilus might really help you, especially if you get yeast infections. it helps me when i get them. balances your good and bad bacterias.

evening primrose helps me not get cramps. you can get it at most vitamin or health food stores.

Eat minimal salts, sugars, and absolutely no caffine (That includes chocolate, soda, and coffe and anything else I forgot) or cigarettes (not to mention illegal drugs). Next, take a warm bath or if you have access to a hot tub use it. Also, I heard exercise helps but I am not sure if it helps yeast infection cramps. Yeast infection is what happens when you get to much bacteria there. You should wash it (meaning around it I think) daily with mild soap (to prevent, not sure if it would help infection or not), but don't try to kill all the bacteria because it is needed. There should be a smell there, but if you have a yeast infection it is a different smell than the normal one. About all wemon experience a yeast infection or similiar atleast once during their lives.

yeast infection is when there's too much yeast there.. but there does need to be some yeast. yeast overgrowth usually happens when it's too moist with water (sitting around in wet bathing suit for example) anyway, i rarely have any caffeince and am cutting down sugar and salt already and i do smoke one cig every three or four days right now... (i'm trying to quit completely)

heating pads sound good. thanks for everyone's advice. i've heard bc is supposed to take away cramps, but that's certainly not the case for everybody :( hopefully they will go away eventually... (meaning i wont get them anymore during my period)

Actually soaps can cause yeast infections. The scented ones are the worst, but even unscented organicy ones can upset the natural balance in a woman's body. To prevent yeast infections, don't wear sweaty or wet clothes for longer than absolutely necessary and wash the outside with water - just water. Sugary foods can trigger them too if you eat a lot of sugar, or if you play with food during sex.

Anywho, for cramps I don't know much. I get the sometimes from depo, but VERY rarely... Stretching helps, apparently masturbating/orgasms help out too.

The first thing that pops into my mind is Cramp Bark. I also have heard that Milk Thistle, Fenugreek, Black cohosh, Blessed Thistle, Wild Yam, & Don quai* . Motherwort & Damiana are good too. If you are pregnant or breast feeding you cant use many of these, read up on them or talk to a herbalist.

*The list in this sentance shold also enhance breast development. :)
