I'm looking for some books that explain the prison system. I've only read one. It was called In the Belly of the Beast by Jack Henry Abbott a convict who had spent most his life in prison. It was good, but at times it was depressing. The author ended up killing himself in 2002. List some more books if anyone knows any more prison literature.

Well, the I suggest reading The House Of The Dead by Dostoevski. It's a book he wrote while he was in prison camp himself. I plan to read it myself when I get the chance. Hopefully soon ;) !
