Probably along with Sam Cooke the father of soul music + distilled so many styles of music: r'n'b (old sense of term),blues, jazz, country + funk, Thanks brother Ray for so many wonderful songs; a great interpreter, you'll be sorely missed!

 

in honor of ray, i sang a song blindfolded at tonight's practice. lol. much love, ray, wherever you are, inside my heart. i miked a 65 piece orchestra for a ray charles show in richmond, indiana a few years back. it was definitely up there in most amazing shows i ever saw. that dude really digs music. shit, he was music.
