Inspired by another thread in events but it fits better here: Every year I forget that it's Earth Day but here's what I did today. I built a frame for a triple rotating compost set-up, I meditated barefoot in a grove of bamboo, I planted some flower seeds to get them started, I took a nap, then I got up and played a didge to the sunset. Much later, now, ooops did it again, today was Earth Day and I completely forgot. I propose we extend it from here on out and make it at least Earth Month or Earth Season, or even Earth Year so I won't keep forgetting and I can join the party when it happens. Who's with me?
Hmnn. Well according to http://earthday.envirolink.org/history.html it's on the 22nd and has nothing to do with the Spring Equinox but more to do with American politics. According to http://www.earthsite.org/real-ed.htm it's on the Equinox and more about balance and natures voice. I really don't know, but I guess if we compromise, that makes it an Earth Month spread between March and April.
So, does that mean that the US celebrates it on a different day than everyone else? Really, just curious.
i dont know if any other country celebrates it... but maybe, just like how the us celebrates christmas another time and stuff like that
Happy earth day to you Happy earth day to you Happy earth day dear Billie-Joe Sebastiano Maria Ludwig von Rückenschmerzen Junior, Happy earth day to you!
seems the international earth day is march 20 http://www.earthsite.org/, while the national (american) one is april 22 http://www.earthday.net/
Yeh, I agree. Seems alot of folk need a holiday and a promise of a party though. Plus I want to go to the party too.
I think there should be at least one national earth day per month Or better yet, just add one more day to the end of the week after sunday and call it "Earthday"!
i think so too, but if earth day is like that day to idk clean up the earth or celebrate or something, some people plant trees or pick up garbage. that should be dont everyday whether its earth day or not. i am just saying, why does it have to be a holiday for people to do this? at least people are doing some of it.
is the day important? no one will know anyway apart form a select few who probably are teh ones who dont need to know anyway.
Everyday Is Earth Day To Me! I Always Respect Our Planet! Why should just one day be devoted to Earth when it is our only means of survival? We have yet to discover relilable living standards outside Earth. Everyone should take the time to realize how valuable earth is. But hey look at the bright side, at least there is one day that people take the time out pf their busy schedules to come together and do something in return for all this planet has to offer.
