    hha that entertained me for so long, solving that problem as a child. well i didnt really solve it as a child but now its lost its air of magic

    Yes. They are runaways. That's why every so often you see one of those socks on the side of the freeway that escaped the dryer but didn't quite make it to their destination. :)

    Yeah well, for every missing sock there is a missing pair of knickers, which seem to grow legs and walk off somewhere. Maybe there's some sock and knicker convention going on somewhere that we ain't invited to :H
