I find it ok to litter in these situations. parking lots peoples yards streets that are kept clean Highway It is not ok to litter in the woods parks places that arent kept clean really open fields I feel this way because when I litter, Im basically handing the trash to someone and saying, "hey, will you throw this away for me?. Anywhere they clean on a regular basis is not harmful to litter, just askin someone for a favor. (Yes, i have to clean trash out of my yard all the time)
I always threw my cigarette butts in the snow bank right outside my house. Now that the snows melted I have a ridiculous amount of cigarettes to clean up.
i try to keep my littering at a minumum, it usually all ends up in my car so i can throw it away later
I keep a bag for garbage in my car.... But my boyfriend still insists on throwing out the windows... It was funny he did it right infront of a cop the other day... the cop made him get out an pick it up...
I'm a freak about litter. It's weird, because my house is a mess and I throw garbage right on the carpet, but anywhere outdoors, even if it's somebody's lawn, I can't litter. I'm one of those people who pick up other people's trash. I don't mind. Garbage outside just bothers me. The most I'll do if I can't throw away something myself, is stick it in someone's mailbox.
I litter in well kept front yards. who ever keeps it up will curse me and my mom, but will make sure it gets disposed of properly.
I like to throw my dirty needles at the park near the swings or at the bottom of the slide. I know they'll get found there for sure.
Almost all litter has absolutely no negative ecological effects. The anti-littering case is mostly an aesthetic appeal. That being said, I don't litter, as I find it to be ugly, and unnesessary, but I certainly don't do it because I think I'm making tongue love to the earth when I throw away a can.
I don't understand why people litter. It does have negative effects even if you choose to tell your self it doesn't. I just feel like we should respect the planet more than we do. Humans take too much for granted. If everyone keeps the attitude that a little litter doesn't hurt this planet is going to continue to be disgusting. Just so you know.. cigarette butts are not biodegradable.
Notice I used the qualifier almost. There are certain things that are bad for local ecosystems if introduced, cigarette butts and diapers being amongst them. Although the scale they effect these local ecosystems is fairly small. cellulose acetate, what makes up cigarette filters, is a form of plastic, and detoriates in the presence of O2. This happens at about the same pace as other plastics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cellulose_acetate
Plastics Are The Antichrist...they Hold Bacteria An Dall..they Are Fucking Gross..never Microwave Anything I Mean Anything In Plastic...blah
