I'm going to his concert , the 27th of june, and i'm so thrilled. sorry, i just had to announce that. love
I'll be seeing the king on May 17th at the NorVa in Norfolk, Virginia... I can't wait... I saw him in 2001, Richmond, Virginia... He really knows how to make his audience fall in love with him... haha, I found out he was a vegetarian a few weeks ago. He's turning 80 this year and isn't doing a farewell tour anytime soon... -
My dad went to one of his shows, he says that the guy just talks and tells stories for more than half of the show. Everytime the music got going, according to my dad, he'd stop and tell another story.
I know. That's one reason I like him. There's a lot of blues history in that man, then again, I may be biased as I study everything from the life of Blind Lemon Jefferson to the development of Stax Records of Booker T. and the MGs and Albert King fame...
Thats what the blues is all about, theres a story behind every song, even wang dang doodle got a story behind it.....i think?
No, it's really all one song, although, there is a story behind every song... The blues in itself is a story, nobody has written an ending to it yet, but I'm at least thankful to be born in a time so great where if I couldn't at least see the blues develop, I can try to revive it so it won't fade out. That's my place in the world.
i totally agree. behind every song's a story. and it's pretty amazing a man of 80 comes to belgium and preform.
you're very lucky...i think i can never see him alive...enjoy for me...and listen for me a song called "how blue can you get?"...
I think he has some shows coming up at the House Of Blues in Orlando. Thats pretty close to where I live. Ill have to check into it.
