i love the way my feet feel after walking all day over rough pavement & sidewalks. it's like getting a foot massage! in the spring, i lamented at how they'd gotten soft inside shoes over the winter, but now they're getting to be leather-tough hobbit feet again. my feet make me feel pretty, even when the rest of me feels or looks like hell. i love dressing them up with henna on the nails, jingly anklets and soleless sandles. maybe i'm silly, but just totally love my pretty bare feet! i may try my first barefoot hike next week!
I'm sure you'll enjoy barefoot hiking. It's very peaceful and relaxing and a good way to get to know the Earth. If your feet are already tough you shouldn't have any problem.
Amen to that one. I just love barefeet. Feels great, relaxes me, looks even better and yet it's free!
Since it seems you are such a dedicated barefooter I'll bet your feet have already undergone the training they'll need for a barefoot hike. Hiking barefoot is truly a pleasure which I'm sure you will enjoy. Keep us poeted about where you hik:sunglassee and how it goes! :sunglasse
Bare feet, cool grass.. but not in my backyard cuz my dogs are back there!!! I also like walking down my gravel driveway to my mailbox barefeet... love to barefoot in the rain... When I am stressed at work, I take my shoes off and crunch my toes in the carpet... mmmm...
well, i see you made it over to this forum afterall, mike! you already know about me & my "hobbit feet". i barefoot everywhere! i can't get over how tough my feet are starting to feel. it seems they toughened up quicker this year than they did last year. i don't think they felt like this till august last year. is that normal? i'll probably be hiking in letchworth state park. i love letchworth. some areas of the park have rattlesnakes, but they're rare enough to be endangered, and usually down in the gullies, not near the trails. i should be ok on the greenway.
I know what you mean...yesterday had the opportunity to spend some time down by the beach...walked barefoot on so many surfaces, including warm dry sand, wet sand, dirt and grass, concrete, blacktop, and some broken-up blacktop that was more like gravel, and my feet look and feel awesome today!
I've always gone barefoot, but this summer more than in a few years.Im only working parttime now so I go barefoot a lot. I gotta get some soleless sandals for 'proper' occasions when you're supposed to wear shoes, like going to the dentist,or shoping downtown. Peace and Love
Kitty - why don't you post a few pics and show us those feet you love! That would be very cool - I hope you can do it soon. Those "sandals" sound great. I hope you're barefoot now!
