Aww, that's too bad. Maybe she thinks that you are not responsible or old enough to have a pet. Are there animal shelters in your area? You could volunteer at a shelter and show her how responsible and commited you are.

parents have several reasons why pets are a "No No!" in house holds... because they possible shed. Because the poop, because they smell if not cared for properly. because they dont think their child is resonsible enough for a pet. Because they have to be fed and they are costly. and most of all because they DIE... My dad hates it when i cry and because of that he always says no to pets... but i get them anyways.
