hey....i was wondering if any of you are familiar with cystic fibrosis? i'm sitting here in tears because i'm starting to worry that my beautiful baby girl may have it.... i tested positive as a carrier, and her "father" wouldn't get tested because it cost too much.... i had her tested as an infant, and it came back negative, but they said that it would be wise to get her tested again... so, lately she's been coughing, and has had diarreah....i noticed that her lips were slightly blue for a short time today.... also, she's very small for her age. and i just looked up the symptoms of cf and those are all symptoms....i know there's really nothing to do but have her tested again, but i'm really scared....
thanks mama..... eeek, i think i may have overreacted....i'm hoping that the *symptoms* are unrelated.... i'm sure lots of babies have had a cough and diarreah at the same time...i'm just really sensitive about it since i know i'm a carrier.
We had a doctor trying to tell us that Dakota had cystic fibrosis. They based this on the fact that he had asthma and reflux. But every time we tried to have the "sweat test" done he refused to sweat. Turns out all he had was allergies. We took away the offending foods and the asthma and the reflux went away. Does your daughter eat well? Is she healthy appearing. Most cf kids are very very thin and don't eat much at all. I knew my son didn't have cf because he is a husky little guy. How long has she had the cough? It's probably just a virus that will pass. I know how scary things like this can be. Seding lots of healthy, healing green light your way. Kathi
Hey I feel ur pain I have a good friend who's brother has CF he is on allllllot of meds but he is all around healthy and has had MANY surgeries but If you need more info post it and I will ask for you!!!!! Katie
