most opiates are out of the system within 24hrs. its why peeps in jail chase the dragon instead of smoking weed. weed stays for 28 days.
(Only about the 25th time I have posted this info) Methadone is a LONG ACTING opiate. It has a half life of up to 55 hours. It will be detected in most drug tests for more than 300 hours after use. That is about 11 or 12 days.
It says 1-7 days after use on erowid. Methadone does not show up in a basic opiate test that is part of the standard pre-employment drug test and which can detect heroin, codeine and morphine (and perhaps oxycodone, hydrocodone, and dilaudid). A Methadone specific test must be performed to detect Methadone. This test is not uncommon and is part of the second tier "extended" test done by many companies.
