i have to say, they are and have been my favourite metal band (power metal) for a year or so. im always surprised at how awesome they are. i guess theyre a bit too corny for mainstream.. but theyve got the best producer.. their tracks are so well made and mixed and aaahhh its awesome!!!!! every second of music considered and unique. if youve not heard them, go listen to Helloween. its not heavy metal or anything hard, just awesome, powerful guitar, germans singing english (so, good voices for this sorta metal) theyve got heaps of overlays and stuff that you dont really notice unless you .. notice.. then its like whoah thats just mee. is it you too?
Fuck yeah dude! Helloween is definately in my top five ever. I cant believe you called them corny. Theyre just a little humorous. I even joined their fan club site, but i never went back cuz i forgot my name. definately check out Keeper parts I & II. theres been talk of a Keeper III, but I dont know if itll happen.
They sound slightly ridiculous to my tastes. Blind Guardian kick their ass without even trying. But then again, Blind Guardian is also slightly ridiculous. In fact, most power metal is, in my opinion... well anyway, I don't like Helloween. Corny is a good word indeed. Their singer is an annoying eunuch and it could do without the fucking keyboards, if there's two things I can't stand it's castrated singers and happy keyboard jingles in my music...
Keeper of the Seven Keys, PT. II is awesome...I love 'I want out' , and have loved them since I bought the tape back when I was a freshman in H.S...
Blind guardian is a good band, but helloween is better. corny or not, power metal (or 'fantasy' metal as i like to call it) is just that. a fantasy.
