In the eyes of God no one is without sin. Thats right, even me. I'm far from perfect, even if I come across as high in mighty. We are all in this soup together. The only thing that sets me apart is being Born Again into Christ. I could never get to Heaven on my own, and neither can anyone else. It's what Jesus did on the cross. No one will ever get to heaven because they did more good than evil. Even one sin will keep you out of Heaven. The only one's who enter Heaven are those without spot or blemish, people who are perfect. The only one's who are perfect are those who accept God's blood sacrifice.
The Bible speaks of Hell in a number of places and is more discriptive. Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire. This a real place, and Christ warned mankind to avoid going there.
Guess I'm in too. I've always accepted Jesus, but you can't have everything without realizing that you can't just believe Jesus to live. I know a lot of people who do (hell even Hitler did... can't picture him in heaven) and well you know what kept them out, they were asses. I live in harmony, both with God, with others, with myself finally, and with the world around me. I give my life for those care for. Whenever I knowingly hurt someone or something I ask forgiveness. Not just from God but from what I hurt too, even if it was the simple act of pulling a flower from a tree. I'll talk to people about God, letting them know the other possibility, but if they refuse to believe, I let it be. Live and let live. Sure I might not be able to hold forgiveness in some cases, but I always try, believe in second chances. Believe that people are universally good people.
We still have our specific identities. chief of state: President Moshe KATZAV (since 31 July 2000) head of government: Prime Minister Ariel SHARON (since 7 March 2001) Neither has complete control over Isreal. They have the knesset and parliament. We have the senate and congress. Israel is completely ruled by one- they are completely ruled by God right now, as is the whole fricken universe. You corrupted the true words with your paraphrasing: "for we see now through a mirror obscurely, and then face to face; now I know in part, and then I shall fully know, as also I was known; " This talks about how lack of wisdom prevents one from diserning the truths of God. A child does not realise they are constantly in contact with God through all things, that everything that happens is orchestrated by God. You are not 'face to face' with God because of your own disbelief. I see God. We talk to eachother. We do sweet things for eachother. God holds me gently and lovingly, although sometimes God acts glorious and wonderful (which God always is, but most of the time God acts comfy, like a lover in a soft sweater to snuggle on). By the way, you are in Good company, and you are Good company.
God, I still remember the story about when my parents told me not to touch the wood burning stove. They said "Matt- hot, Matt- hot" and I touched it anyway. After that they could get me to stay away from stuff by saying "Matt-hot". Maybe God was trying to make me scared of hot chicks.
The Bible does not teach universal goodness, but just the oppsite. Man has rebeled against God from the beginning. And that is why God states in Romans 3:23 that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. He also states that are best works are but filthy rags before Him. He also said there is none that are rightous, no not even one. God tells us that if you live for Christ, the world will hate you. Trying to be good is what God desires, but trying to be good will not save you. Only the Blood of Christ will do that. Unless a man is Born Again, he will not enter into the Kingdom of God.
why would you subject yourself to a religion that puts humans down so much? Your religion teaches you that humans are basically worthless. Fuck that. if indeed that is the truth, however, God is the only one to blame.
First of all my faith is not a religion. I don't even go to church because of the job I have. Yet my faith is based on my experiences with God, and the understanding of His word. My faith does not teach that humans are worthless but are precious to God. Yet, God gave man free will to choose the good from the evil. It is mans nature to blame God for all things and few take responsibility for their actions. There is not a man or woman alive who would have to burn in Hell. Those who will burn in Hell well be there because that is the choice they have made. They have rejected Gods blood sacrifice willingly. Because they love their sinful life more than they love God.
God loves his people so much, yet he is going to torture some of them for all eternity in a lake of fire? I'll never believe that one.
I will never take responsibility for a made up character's actions in a made up story. Even if it were true i would not take responsibility for someone elses stupid fuck up.
Only depends on the number of post you have per page. I'm lucky to have this thing on only two pages. Made it easier to read and insert my comments and feelings about this topic.
don't see how this could possibly be a reason not to celebrate it. The pagan holiday was transformed into a Christian holiday and it's all about Christ. It is not celebrated for pagan reasons. It is called Christmas. The fact that something ungodly has been transformed into something godly is all the more reason to celerbate the occasion and be joyous, since it represents the death of something bad and the birth of something good. How can that possibly be a bad thing? As I said, it's like standing in church and refusing to sing any hymn that has non-Christian origins (and there are quite a few Wow talk about ignorance! Since when is something Pagan ungodly and bad. Talk about being led into blind faith! Making that statment is just as ignorant as saying Blacks are evil or inhuman! Judgement is your only cause!
Hey ummm just saying the wittnesses dont have to read their bible they are allowed to use any bible.Besides ummmm how do you know the church's bible has not been changed.Im just saying. Also I AM BUMPING THIS THREAD!!!!
I absolutely agree, wooden_bead. On one had you gotta respect the commitment they have to their faith, it's pretty hard core. But on the other hand, there are some rules that I think are a bit too binding for people to follow.
I dont know why many people have prejudices on jehova witness. They seem to be nice people to talk with because they representing themselves and tells you what they stands for in a correct way. I indeed that it is a bit annoying sometimes when they comes in a a unexpected and unregular time. I´ve heard that they changes their ethic rules sometimes . Is it true? And they dont see jesus as the sun of god . I´ve heard from some sources that they actually says that they are christians . What I want to come in to is that they do not agree that he is the son of god . So should they be a part of the christianity faith after all , if they dont think the same as the other christian churches and believers.
With 'Church's Bible', do you mean like 'general Bibles', like say KJV, NIV, NLT, etc. etc? There's proof that they haven't been changed, really...
