Looking for suggestions on good peaceful (free) campsites between the midwest and the west coast....Any suggestions are welcome, tell me your favorites, because i am looking to discover mine for the first time in june! thanks! I am talking anywhere from oklahoma to montana to oregon to all of Cali to Arizona to EVERYWHERE in the west! Woohooo
I would HIGHLY recommend southern Utah...there are 5 national parks all in a row down there and they are all unlike anywhere else....I would recommend getting a pass to all the national parks-I think they cost around 30 dollars, and then doing backcountry camping. In Utah I often camped without a tent under rock overhangs. Other excellent places include Grand Teton and Devils Tower in Wyoming, the Olympic National Park in Washington The dunes and the cliffs on the Oregon coast are also pretty cool, as well as the redwood forest of northern California. Have fun, i did a trip like you are doing once and it was great.
