The regular hippie forum was beginning to freak me out. My name is Zoe. I am a pretty young hippie! And yes, I think that we are criticized way too much. The other day, I was walking down the hallway at school (in a "Give Peace a Chance" vest I made myself) and I tripped. I grabbed the nearest arm, which happened to be the one of the biggest hippie-hater in school. "Get off me, you stupid hippie!" he yelled, and pushed me over. I stared at him, stunned, as he walked off, then set my books down next to me in the hall and silently began to cry. Discrimination is bad. We don't deserve it anymore than anyone else does. Peace
Question........who isnt? And hi.sorry about the whole pushing thing...........i dont like people like that.......Welcom to Hip Forums.........you will like it here trust me......
True about the who isn't part. But I was having a heated convo with an annoying kid named Dillon at school, and he goes, "Why do you like the Beatles? They're so lame!" And I burst out, "WELL MAYBE IF YOU WEREN'T SUCH A CULTURALLY DEPRIVED MORON YOU'D HAVE MORE TASTE 4 STUFF LIKE THAT!!!!!!" He fall silent and muttered, "Well... I like the guy with the long hair." I rolled my eyes and said, "They ALL have long hair, duh!" And he goes, "The one with the glasses." I put on a voice like I was talking to a 5-year-old and said, "You mean John Lennon?" "Yeah." So I guess everyone does on some level.
Thanks. For understanding, I mean. It feels good to know that there are other people who get it instead of going, "Don't be a baby," or, "Grow up!" or something.
Haha, I do love appreciate the beatles, even though I've never generally been a fan of pop-culture and I consider their early songs somewhat of boyband meterial, at least they were actually musicians and pulled it off with inspirational art. I view them as one of the most, if not the most, all-around bands of the 20th centuty. I like their later stuff. I think I'll listen to the magical mystery tour now.... and to top that off, they kind of helped Billy Preston in Sgt. Pepper.
Just try remember that your the cool one, their the dickheads. Take pride in the fact that your not them, and joy in the fact that you're you.
Im into 60's and 70's rock pn the whole. I love Jazz and im into blues as well though. In fact, i would actually rank jazz as my highest passion. I really like dave brubeck, Miles Davis, John Coultraine and Charlie Parker.
