I'm an older hippie and want to say groovy to be here. (Really haven't said anything like that since....well, been a while) Let me pick out a year....1972....Alice Cooper new album Killer became mine, almost out of high school...I look around today and realize it's a different place now, not the same....What can you do...nothing, have to live with it. It'll be kind of far out to have a place like this to come to, talk, make new 'cyber' friends. I came across this site by accident looking for a communal way of living. Haven't found anything. Not necessarily looking for a hippie community but just one where I can shut out some of the stupidity of the world. A place where people feel generally the same way I do...is there a place like that.....is it over the rainbow? Is it wishful thinking, bad thinking? I don't think it's over the rainbow, wishful thinking, bad thinking. I do think there is that kind of place, where people can live in harmony, respect others space and be there genuinely for your brother, sister, in times of need. I'll keep looking for that place. I might never find it, but if I do, it'll be a gas. I'll continue to be primarily a loner, but will have like people who are there when you need them, when you feel like looking for fun and feelin groovy. for the welcome, I haven't had a chance to really get around and see the site, whats going on but intend to soon, like to read up on some posts, ones that I can relate to and ones that I can't but are interesting anyway, sure there are plenty of those to go around.
Welcome to the neighborhood! Sounds like you're looking for an eco-village or something similar. We know of two for sure; Earthhaven in North Carolina & Dancing Rabbit in Missouri; there are more and it's likely that there is a forum geared just for folks looking for their space in life. I did find that site that lists all (presumabley all) the communal places available, and remember bringing up Dancing Rabbit, Earthhaven I can't remember if I did. I will look into those again, I responded to a few and have not been contacted, and they are suppose to be accepting people, and I seem to fit the specs, so I don't know....guess I'll keep trying.
