What is a concrete definition of virginity?

If a person is homosexual, or bi-sexual, and has had sex, but has never really inserted, or had a penis inserted in the vagina... Would you define that as still being a virgin?

But what about blowjobs, anal sex, etc.. Is that not to be considered as sex, or...?

In the Eastern parts of the world, doesn't that count just as much as actual interocourse?

to me it doesn't, I don't consider blow jobs sex, gosh if I did that would mean I'm a huge slut, lol
It might just be me but blow jobs don't mean even half as much as actually having sex.
I've givin lots of head but I've only actually had sex with two men.

Yeah, I've actually heard about girls who have anal sex, but consider themselves virgins because they've never had vaginal intercourse. That, combined with increasing rates of oral sex amongst teens, is why STD rates among teens and young rates are rising, despite the fact that less teens are having vaginal intercourse.

    Wow greengoddes,

We have like totally different views.. I think of oralsex just pretty much like intercourse, but on the other hand, I wouldn't take anal sex that serious...

Do you think of blowjobs almost like making out?

I agree with greengoddess. I think in order to not be a virgin, one must have had penetration by the penis. That is what sexual intercourse is. However, the terms like anal sex, oral sex, etc. have just confused things. A girl who has had anal sex performed on her but not vaginal sex, i believe, is a virgin. In answer to your question, Communism, if blow jobs are like 'making out,' i would say not exactly. i wouldn't consider blow jobs sexual intercourse either. Oral sex is just a type of foreplay, a stimulation for orgasm. Oral sex is stimulation using the mouth. However, what about masterbation? That too is stimulation for climax, would you consider that sex? I don't.

Another argument is that the woman's hyman must be torn to say she is not a virign. I do not entirely agree with this statement, but it does hold some truth. Hymans can be broken many ways, some girls have had sex and because their hymans are so thick, are not torn. If the hyman was torn by penile penetration, then i would say no she is not a virgin.

A few months ago, one of my co-workers (who is a lesbian) was bragging about how she is NOT a virgin. She was saying, "Yes, Oral sex really IS sex because if it wasn't then I would still be a virgin." This statement bothered me (well, i guess it is because i just do not like this person because she is such a bitch to me) but i don't think people should contort the definition of SEX just to adjust themselves into saying that they are not virgins.

I mean, I can understand why someone would say something like that I guess. People have their own definitions of what "sex" and "viriginity" is. All i can see is the LITERAL definition of each term. The way i see it, which is more clear and to the point, is that sex is for procreation. You cannot procreate through anal or oral sex nor can you procreate by having sex with sex toys. You can procreate through vaginal-penile sex. (Leaving out artificial insemination, of course...)

I have been with a girl as well. Like greengoddess said, i wouldn't say that i've had SEX with her because technically that wouldn't be a correct statement.

Well.. I consider oral sex to really be sex, however I think penetration is the only way to lose your virginity. Maybe it's because I see oral as being a lesser step before penetration, but still just as intimate. I would still consider being with another woman as having sex, though.
