    Anyone here like Steely Dan?
I'm pretty much obsessed with them. The musical talent is unbeliveable. No matter what kind of music you rock to, you can't deny their superiority.

Steely Dan are a band version of all the absolutely horrible crap that Rod Stewart put out after The Faces disbanded.

    So, obviously, I can't stand 'em. :H

I still can't fathom comparing Steely Dan to Rod Stewart. 1972, totally different types of music to me.

With that comparison Chuck, I can honestly say, not only do you have a lot to learn, you have yet to learn how to learn.

I didn't like steely dan for the longest time, then as I started to get better playing guitar, I realized just how impressive becker can play. He's probably my favorite soloist, or at least the soloist I have the most respect for, and I really don't like guitar solo's at all anymore. His fit the song so perfectly, and genuinely add to the song in a way 99% of other bands don't. After I got turned onto that, steely dan took on a new kind of magic. My favorite thing about them is how so many of their songs have a personality to them. Hard to explain, yet it's there.
