Some teas have something that helps people fall asleep, as does milk.

You can also get OTC remedies that help out a lot.
If all else fails Ambien is what doctors prescribe to those with major insomnia.

Ambien works great. Over the counter, I use orig Dramamine (diphenhydrinate) or Unisom (doxylamine) or Percogesic (acetaminophen/phenyltoxamine). I alternate. When it gets really bad, I throw in 1mg of sublingual melatonin, which helps alot, but I wouldn't recommend taking it all the time.

try Valerian, you can get it in tablet form or a spray that goes under your tounge.

at the moment i cant sleep at all without smoking alota pot. so i dont recommend that! not that i dont enjoy it! but its not good to be addicted. which is why i am going to try the spray soon.

its aparently good for anxiety/stress as well.

Dandy!! I've read loads on poor sleep lately but due to my anaemia I've forgotten most of it!! I do remember reading that a lettuce sandwich before bed is brilliant, lettuce is good on it's own but the combination of stuff in each item (see I'm rubbish!) helps you sleep and to stay asleep.

Also, a lack of particular vitamins/minerals can lead to insomnia. When I get a chance I'll try and find the relevant info and post but right now my head hurts :(

Then there's all the other stuff - don't drink too many caffeinated drinks, keep sugar intake to a low, get some exercise ( 20 minutes fast walking will do) talk about or write down stuff you've got going round your head, read a book blah blah you get the picture :) Good luck and get some sleep!

i had sleeping problems for a little while, and apparenlty if you try and go to sleep and you can't, just get up and eat a sandwhich or somethin and just doing somethin for like 10 mins etc, then try going back to sleep, you might need to this a couple of times tho, but it worked for me
