It does not matter who you vote for.

You really think Kerry is gonna be some savior who is going to immediately withdraw the troops?

Kerry is corporate sponsered too, remember that. There is pretty much NO DIFFERENCE between Bush and Kerry. This election is so worthless and useless, that you might as well waste your vote on Nader, just to show your support.

If Bush is re-elected, perhaps it will incite all of those Bush-haters out there to actually take some kind of action, so, for that reason alone, I would almost be inclined for Bush to win. If Kerry wins, it will pacify them, even though nothing will have changed at all. If any so called social rights revolution or anything is going to take place, it almost requires Bush to be in office.

But the fact remains, this election is so utterly worthless, that the only real outcome of it will be to see what percentage do vote for Nader, and if that percentage is a large one (10%-20%), then that would be hard and concrete proof that a lot of americans have become enlightened to the true nature of politics in america, and are fed up with our system. That is the ONLY good thing that will come of this election.

A part of me wants Bush to win just so massive outcry can't be avoided. And I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but Bush and Kerry were frat buddies!

We are screwed either way. Both of them are going to send this country further in the wrong direction. For things to be sent in the right direction it's going to require a change in thought on a wide scale. But I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

I am so sick of this sheep mentality that John Kerry is going to save us. John Kerry is nothing more than a big phony with a lot of money (or his wife's money, rather).

Rat is right, the change is going to have to happen on a wide-scale. It probably wont happen because of a paticular president.

And it definitely wont be with Kerry, he is not much different than Bush.

I really don't know if it will make a difference either way, but the election process will be the thing to watch. The last election was a lot less than honest, so there are some ill feelings and bad blood that may erupt, and many are predicting that there will be some staged terrorist attack in October ( a 2004 "October Surprise") as part of the election strategy. Welcome to the Third World!

yea, it will be an interesting thing to watch. I'll be watching how much of the percentage that Nader gets, cause that will be very interesting.

but yea, if nothing else, at least life in our country won't be boring for the next few months.

one other thing. if i start getting too passionate about something as useless as politics in my posts again, please slap me.

I think that everything anyone needs to know about the Bushmen is explained by what they're asking in the Padilla case. Anyone with the slightest doubt as to whether Bush=Hitler need only read the court documents in that case.

You really think Kerry is gonna be some savior who is going to immediately withdraw the troops?

No. But Bush is such a threat to all of us that we're truly in a state of emergency, and his administration must be removed. Kerry has a chance of winning, and will get my vote. If the Supreme Court gives Bush permission to have Kerry killed (I'm not exaggerating at all- the authority Bush has requested in the Padilla case would allow him to legally have Kerry killed, and who knows what will happen if he does get the go-ahead).

Kerry is corporate sponsered too, remember that.

Let's hope so. Without tens of millions of dollars in money for advertising, he has little chance of winning. Unfortunately, most people will not bother to even research him at all, and can only be reached by a cheesy commercial. Kerry needs money, and I don't care how he gets it, he'd just better get it. Unless you're ready to deal with stormtroopers breaking down your door, and long nights in a filthy cage wondering why you get no phone call, lawyer, or trial, consider making a donation to his campaign!

you might as well waste your vote on Nader, just to show your support.

I normally would agree. I'm not one of those people that would typically say "you're just throwing away your vote." But I see our present situation as dire. A true emergency. Lives are at stake, the very survival of our species could be at stake. What's "normally reasonable" is out the window altogether. We need a way out of the present crisis. And the real horror hasn't even started yet, as Bush is waiting to be granted total authority as dictator (in the Padilla case), and re-election. If he gets SCOTUS approval AND is re-elected, then the fit will hit the proverbial shan. Just like in every other nation where such authority is given to one person, people will begin to vanish. By the thousands. I disagree with those who claim that it can't happen here because we Americans are somehow racially superior to "furriners."

If Bush is re-elected, perhaps it will incite all of those Bush-haters out there to actually take some kind of action

It'll be too late then. What good is "taking an action" if the result is spending the next forty years in prison? Throw a pie in someone's face and get a life sentence? A student at a university in Idaho was facing more than 200 years in prison for running a web site because the government regarded the content (which he had nothing to do with) as being pro-terrorist. He was acquitted, of course, but the fact that government is pulling crap like that- without the Padilla ruling in hand yet- is horrifying.

If the court rules as expected, Bush will suddenly have the legal authority to declare ANY AMERICAN CITIZEN (John Kerry, for instance) an "enemy combatant" without even giving any evidence whatsoever. There's no telling what would follow. Imagine the DNC's funds being seized, and all Democratic congressmen kidnapped and vanished. A "shoot to kill" order for any public assembly deemed anti-government. The pro-Bush idiots would be so thrilled they'd be jerking off watching the bloodbath on television. Yes, I really think it's THAT bad.

I used to ridicule people who said these sorts of things- I even urged people to simply "support the President" after 911. But in the Padilla case, Bush is requesting authority to have anyone killed upon his decree (or signature on the final page, if it's a long multi-page list of people or organizations). The fact that he's requested that authority is, of itself, the most extreme act ever undertaken by a modern president. Comparisons to Hitler are completely reasonable, except that Hitler didn't have anything remotely comparable to the tools- electronic data in particular- in Bush's hands.

I would almost be inclined for Bush to win.

Well, then vote for him. But remember that when "opposition leaders" (as Dems will be called at first, later "subversives" will be the media term) start vanishing by the thousands.

But the fact remains, this election is so utterly worthlessf

I think it'll be our last chance to avert disaster. If Bush gets another four years, I think the result could be tens of millions of people dead. Hundreds of millions if he triggers another world war. As it is, it'll take decades at least, centuries perhaps, just to undue the damage the Commander In Thief has done in under four years. It's nothing less than a crisis. In under four years, this isn't even America anymore. In four more years of Bush, it'll get a lot uglier than this mere fascist police state.

see what percentage do vote for Nader, and if that percentage is a large one (10%-20%), then that would be hard and concrete proof that a lot of americans have become enlightened to the true nature of politics in america

Bush is the sort of ass who would have no problem putting 49% of Americans in prison as long as the 51% remaining applaud him for it (as Bush idiots typically would). And not even have the common decency to give a reacharound.

    Vote, vote early, vote often.

perhaps you're right. its just, i see two scenarios.

    1. Kerry wins, and the exact same thing goes on (he is sponsered by the same people as bush), and nothing changes at all, except it appeases all the anti-bush people

    2. bush wins again, and all the anti-bush people become desperate, as war drags on, and it would be almost like another '60s'.

i dont think bush would imprison and kill people out in the open like that, but who knows man. i guess no one thought it could happen to Germany either, and from what i've read, Germany was quite 'modern' for its time, too. Perhaps this is simply the same forces that were behind hitler trying a new attempt at world domination, with bush as the puppet this time around.

all in all, we can't really ever know truly what is happening in our government, but I would be inclined to watch as chaos breaks out over the next few years if bush is re-elected. not that i am supporting chaos, because i wouldn't want to say that, since its pretty obvious these boards are being monitored by our government. its just a shitty scenario, who knows what will happen? i guess that is what all the anticipation is for.

Yes and the Illuminati is watching the government while being watched by the Knight Templar who in turn are watched by the Masons who are spied on by Bigfoot and TuPac inside an ice cream truck parked across the street from your house.

well, is it too lofty a notion to present that perhaps there is indeed an elite group that are the real controllers of our world?

im not asking you to accept that as fact, just to consider the posisbility. your unwillingness to even consider the possibility shows your closed-mindedness.

Yeah that was a really clever and hilarious post. Truly orifinal.

What Bush has formally requested in the Padilla case- the right to order any citizen kidnapped and murdered without ANY hearing whatsoever- really isn't funny. I have family who went to Italy during its fascist period, and hunted down and killed people who claimed authority like that. Now people like that run our country, and Republicans think it's some kind of joke.

This must be one of the more entertaining conspiracy theories I've read, perhaps you should get it published?

It's been published in every newspaper and magazine on the planet. I guess these Bush morons really do live under rocks and in caves like their Afghan counterparts?
