if you're referring to the milgram obedience experiments, then i think they were pretty ingenius and hilarious at once. yeah, they were a little unethical, but as long as the truth was told at the end, i don't think anyone could have had such a problem as to unjustify the means

    yea i am!

i guess i should have explained. the milligram experiment was to test conformity and obedience to authority amongst the general population.

basically he had a teacher and a learner (the teacher was the test subject, but he thought that the learner was...the learner was really an actor). and the teacher would read questions and if the learner got it wrong, the teacher would shock him. the voltage would increase everytime. the learner (actor who wasnt really being shocked) would scream and yell and say he wanted to quit. by the scientist watching the teacher would tell him to keeping going.

70% of the teachers went to the highest voltage, which said that it was fatal even if they protested it because the authority told them too.

there were also conformity experiments where certain people were placed to say certain wrong answers to obvious questions and see if people followed, which they did.

    this is very random..

i think it's hilarious. so many people are pussys. they even went as far as to thinking they'd killed a man. haha and the sound bite of him going on about his bad heart lol. did you also know it differs in different countries and with the different genders as far as going all the way goes... if i remember correctly the highest rating country's score was Russia

there is a similar experiment with prisoner and guard, where they take random people and put them into either group and situation. pretty much by the end of it the "guards" are treating the prisoners like shit coz they don't have the responsibility on their shoulders. arent humans great.

actually, the experimenter told the people that it was still safe. it only seemed fatal because after increasingly intense screams and complaints of the heart condition, the learner became silent for the last several trials. but no one ever actually said that it was fatal.

did you actually watch the films? i found them quite entertaining, and it was quite heartwarming when the teachers were reunited with the learners that they thought they had been torturing

a miligram isn't all that much. In fact, if someone tried to sell me a milligram of pot I'd kick them square in the nuts.

yeah i did see the video, it was kind of disturbing...

and the prison guard experiment someone mentioned was the Zimbardo experiment and that's messed up as hell. it relates alot to the current situation in Abu Ghraib no?
