It's not surprising at all.

Wire surveilance is only going to grow. Its a usefull tool for law enforcement.

If you're doing something illegitimate buy a cellphone and a pager. Have everyone calling page you, call them on your cell phone and set up a payphone to go to and work things out. It's easy.

 

just wait until the tiny video cameras become used more widely, just as frequently as wiretaps...... if they aren't already

I feel very strongly about privacy rights, but the fact is that these are only going to be used on suspected terrorists, drug dealers, and other felons.

If these people don't want to be caught then they're going to have to stay a step ahead of the technology used to catch them.

If you're worried, take precautions, but if you call your friends once a week and talk about who coukd fit the most golf balls in there mouth, then your phone will not be tapped in the first place.

 

I'm not worried about things on my end, but he moves alot of stuff at times, and sometimes I get a bit paranoid about shit.

 

Warn your guy about it. Tell him to make use of payphones for names and numbers.

 

He knows about all that stuff, its when he decides to get all tanked up and forget what he's doing
