sick with a cold - doing a 1-day cleansing fast thingy

    well, i've done cleansing juice fasts in the past that lasted up to five days, so a one-day fast is certainly a walk in the park compared to before. i have 32 oz. of knudsen's simply nutritious mega-green juice, and 32 oz. of santa cruz organic lemon-ginger-echinacea juice. i also have vegetarian, salt-free broth, raw spinach for juicing, and a shit-ton of filtered water. i hope this will knock the cold right outta me. the only reason i'm making this just a one-day fast is because i have the day off and if i did this on a day i worked, i'd be peeing way too much and be cranky because i work in a place with food.

    why dont youjust make a heap of chicken soup?

    i didnt know nutrition was bad for the immune system...

    nutrition isn't bad for the immune system. toxins ARE. i'm doing this to cleanse TOXINS out of my body. i'm not depriving it of nutrition. the juices i've been drinking today are LOADED with nutrition. i've been fasting and drinking juice and water all day, and i actually feel better! chicken soup, especially the canned variety, is loaded with fat, preservatives, and sodium. all of which cloud up the immune system even more. and sodium dehydrates you, and being hydrated during a cold is the most important thing. since i'm off work today i thought i'd do a little mini-fast to try to cleanse some shit outta my system. if i had had to work today, i wouldn't be fasting. since i'm taking it easy, i don't need a lot of extra energy. i know a thing or two about cleansing fasts because i've done them before and they work for me.

    do the research and know what you're talking about before opening your mouth, kiddo.

    sorry, that last post was a little harsh. i apologize. but i still stand by what i meant, which is, know what you're talking about before making a claim.

    i dont know if anybody read my thread a while back but my uncle used to do this cleansing thing where u just eat watermelon, thats it.
    but i wouldnt recommend it for a cold.

    get-rid-of-a-cold-essentials

    -raw garlic (juiced, raw or just lightly grilled on bread)
    -wheatgrass
    -lots of ginger, in juice maybe watermelon, lime and ginger
    -lots of water
    -lots of chilli
    i think nutrition is important but really basic healthy stuff like what youre doing already with the juices.
