So now that sugar has become a bad word, the breakfast cereal companies have all changed their names to hide the sugar content and make it look like they are wholesome.

Sugar Pops is now just 'Pops'.

Super Sugar Crisp in now "Super Golden Crisp'.

Sugar Smacks is now just 'Smacks'.

Sugar Frosted Flakes is now simply 'Frosted Flakes'.

Honey is a popular replacement word for sugar. The box may contain up to 40% sugar by weight, but they will put a trace of honey in there just so that they can legally have the word 'honey' in the name to make it appear wholesome.

There's probably other example out there regarding name changes that I'm not aware of. :)

There was a time when things were called by their full names. Now it's KFC, McD, BK, etc. :)

This may be old news to some, and new to others so this thread seems a good place as far as names. copy paste to search engine for some interesting stuff.

    Nuclear Engineering, US Ecology
    Bin Laden Telecommunications, Baud
    Tricon Global Restaurants, Yum

Philip Morris, Altria link to hoovers, funny how most people have no clue that the same company trying to sell their kids cancer sticks is the same one selling them the jello they're eating. People wonder why we're addicted to certain foods.

and of course a nice name soup:

Solutia,Monsanto,Pharmacia,Pfizer and what the hell, throw in GE for kicks.

How they're related a short history
    What they did From Mindfully.org
    GE In It Berkshire Eagle

I hate how it's now "hip & trendy" to shorten company and product names. It just shows the dumbing of America.

Even Saturday Night Live has fallen victim. It used to be spelled out completely in hand-written script. Now it's just SNL in arial letters. :)
