Have you had it? My older son just broke out yesterday....so the other will follow suit soon.... I am glad, now I won't have to worry about them getting it when they're older and more vulnerable to complications...
I had it when I was in grade school. I didn't listen to my mom when she told me not to pick at them...and now I have a chicken pox scar beside my belly button. Warn him against picking at them. I hope your son gets to feeling better soon!
your better off never getting chicken pox. you never get rid of the virus (herpes zoster), it stays dormant in the nervous sestym for as long as the person lives. then one day years later when your sick and week it flairs up, casuing that excruciatingly painfull deseas known as shingles. It crippled my grandfather, he has so much pain in his left upperback and arm he cant use it anymore.
eh i remember having the chicken pox. i got them in kindergarden. not scratching was the hardest part.
I had them when I was 18, damn it sucked the big one. I was out with my boyfriend at the time on his motorcycle and started itching reaaal bad. my youngest daughter had the immunization for it.
I had it when I was 4 and a half...right after my baby brother was born. And I got bit by a spider at the same time....so my mom didn't notice the bug bite from all the other bumps on me until it started to rot...I'd been bit by a brown recluse. :&
I don't think I ever got it. My mom thinks I may have, but they never itched, and it was only a couple of spots. So I really have no idea. Peace
I didn't want to go the immunization route. It's not 100% effective and I'd rather know they are protected. I would have if they were immunocompromised in any way, but those guys are healthy as horses.. cousinit, I know what the virus is and that it stays in the body, your immune system keeps it in check. I'm sorry about your grandpa, but that's not what happens to everybody. I have never known anyone who ever had the shingles. It's nearly impossible to avoid getting chicken pox, because it is airborne and extremely contaigous. People are contaigous before they even know they have it, during the last couple of days of the incubation period. Yes, it would be nice to never have to have it, but there are much worse things out there.
You got the Pox on your birthday too? My family noticed it on me on my 5th birthday. a few parents kept their kids away from my party while others made sure their kids were there to catch it from me. I thought it was kinda odd for parents to want to expose their kids to a disease, but I was happy nevertheless that I had more friends over and more gifts. I was itching so bad and wouldn't stop that mom put double pairs of socks on my hands.
well, my son had the sh0t..he never got them and won't...my daughter didn't have the shot and got em..so the shot does work.
l had it 3 months ago, it was hell. I wish l had it when l was a child. I got pretty sick with a lung infection from it and was off work for 24 days.
It may work for you but it's a gamble, it won't work for 100% of people who get it. That's why I don't like the flu shots. They are full of wierd crap, and they're only 70% effective.
