If the thing is already dead, why is it so bad to make use of the situation? There's nothing you can actually do to prevent the animal from being killed, aside from razing every slaughterhouse in the country.

Please, shut up. You can't make fun of people for chooseing to live differently then you. Those that choose vegetarianism do so because of religious reasons, health reasons, to not support the meat industry, whatever. Theres lots of reasons to be a vegetarian.

And, we can prevent the animal from being killed. The more people go vegetarian, the less market there is for meat. Thus, less animals die.

what're you, like 15 years old? don't say stupid shit and at the same time call other people dumbfucks. shut the fuck up!

(brought to you by a meat eater that respects other lifestyles, but does not respect stupidity and assholics.)

that was possibly the worst argument against vegetarianism i've ever heard. the slaughterhouse killed it, so you might as well eat it?

i am not, btw, a vegetarian, but you sir, are most definitely the only dumbfuck here.

The thing doesn't have to be already dead if we don't kill it in the first place. And it's not bad to make use of what's already dead. Jeez, didn't you pay attention in kindergarten?

Raze every slaughterhouse, you say...not a bad idea.

It's people like you that makes humanity just a colony of mouthbreathers.

However - if your freinds have a slice of leftover pizza, with meat, and they offer it to you, is it wrong to eat it? Of course not. But most veggies I know will refuse it. This irritates a lot of meat-eaters, and may be at the root of this idiot's post.

anyone I know who has left over pizza hogs it for themselves!!
    :p
I can't think of one situation where the only thing available to eat would be left over meat topped pizza combined with being starving combined with being so far from a shop or the next meal...combined with so many things that the meat eater even has an excuse to get grumpy at a refusal to eat left over meat topped pizza!!!
seems to me that if it was rudely refused maybe you could be pissed at them for being rude about it but that has more to do with their manners than their dietry habits!!

Eventhough minimizing the suffering and unessesary death of animals is MY #1 reason for becoming a vegetarian, it is not, however the only reason to do so. Some others are protecting the environment since factory farming produces SO MUCH waste and some people do it for health reasons.

I'm sure others can elaborate here for you if you even have the slightest bit of interest. I'm thinking you don't so I won't waste anymore of my time.

Yeah, I've noticed meat eaters seem to spend a lot of time getting worked up over what veggies will and won't eat, and then they tell us that we're the ones preaching. Go figure.

Yes, I think DancerAnnie means per veggie. I have heard this too. Not sure how accurate it is but I think its true. Does anyone know where this stat comes from specifically? 95 is probably the average number of animals that are eaten each year per person.

well, carnivorous animals are usually defined by their teeth... same with vegetarian/omnivores... human teeth are mostly flat, we only have 2 sharp teeth... and animal protein isnt really that good for your body or disgestive system... humans, especially americans, eat too much meat, and not enuf vegetables and fruit...

yeah bacons awesome... im not a vegetarian, altho ive tried before.. just cant do it... i do respect vegetarians though... i look it more as a good philosophy for being healthy rather than a way to minimize animal suffering.

Now, we've discussed this to death elsewhere, so I'll keep this short. The reason I (i can't speak for others) am interested in what veggies eat or don't is that they implicitly claim to be morally superior. Some, like yourself, seem to be fairly relaxed about the whole thing, while others get on high horses and start calling names - "meat is murder" and all that. I'm going to get 'worked up' about anyone who tells me I'm a murderer! :-D
